SAA Fights Way Into "ISIS Stronghold" Blow to US backed PKK/YPG/SDF

THE Syrian army fought its way into the Euphrates valley town of Mayadeen yesterday — one of the last major Isis strongholds.
Military sources told Lebanon’s Al Masdar News that troops entered the city, south of Deir Ezzor, from the west after a brief clash on the outskirts.
Last week the US-led military coalition said its Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) allies would attempt to seize Mayadeen before the army.
The SDF — with embedded US special forces — has struck far south of its strongholds in the Kurdish north to capture major gas and oil fields.
Earlier Russian Defence Ministry spokesman General Igor Konashenkov made fresh allegations of US collusion with Isis in its self-declared “deconfliction zone” around the southern border town of al-Tanf.
He claimed the death cult was launching attacks from the “100 km black hole” around Tanf — while the occupying US troops used refugees in the Rukban camp just across the border in Jordan as a “human shield.”
